Stanley is an emeritus professor of Pathology at Duke, past president of the College of American Pathologists, and past commissioner of Cancer Research for the State of New Jersey. He is the senior editor of the textbook, Robboy’s Pathology of the Female Reproductive Tract. Stanley has been exceedingly active in helping support programs of diversity to provide meaningful opportunities for trainees. Stanley was a visiting pathologist at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre in Moshi, Tanzania.
