August 2024 Teacher Workshop

Another successful summer workshop complete! This month we held 2 trainings for teachers from across 6 different schools. Eleven teachers earned a stipend for completion. Nine teachers new to our organization earned their rain garden certificates from NC Cooperative Extension. The workshop included in-classroom and on-site learning. Teachers helped install a cistern and rain garden at an Orange County resident’s property, as well as take part in a study of micro invertebrates in two Orange County waterways. We look forward to working with these teachers again in the next student apprenticeship program.
